From wedding trends to Mediterranean table

scapes and hidden Marbella gems, here’s what’s caught our eye in the wedding world & Marbella this week. Whether you’re planning your big day or a visit to Marbella, we hope this post will inspire you.

Wedding Photo Trend, the Dip Kiss

If you’re getting married, now is the time to start practicing the romantic “dip kiss.”

This timeless favourite has made a huge comeback in wedding photography this year, and for good reason, it looks like it belongs on a movie poster.

Definitely one to add to your must have photo list!

Consider striking this pose just after your wedding ceremony or during your first dance. Not only will it wow your guests, but it’ll also give you a gorgeous romantic photo you’ll want to frame forever.

Practice makes perfect so a strong hold, no dropping, trust fall vibes and maybe a swivel! Both smile, kiss or gaze into each others eyes and try not to get the giggles!

Top tip. If you plan to do this iconic passionate pose let your wedding planner and/or photographer know in advance.

Scarves as Wedding Favours

Nostalgia is definitely here to stay and as we stick with the classic films for inspirations, think Audrey Hepburn on the Italian Riviera, chic silk scarves fluttering in the breeze, if there is one! Effortlessly stylish.

We found this perfect scarf on Shhh My Darling, although scarves aren’t listed it maybe a custom order but isn’t it fabulous!

Printed scarves make beautiful and practical wedding favours that guests will treasure (and actually use). Choose designs that echo your wedding colours or location in coastal blues, floral prints, or elegant monograms.

Heart Shaped Glasses

Fun, flirty and totally Instagram worthy. Heart shaped sunglasses have become a popular playful accessory for summer weddings.

Use them for your bridal party shots, your table seating plan or hand out for the dance floor preferably with a Photo Booth!

A fun idea for your bridal shower would be to host a decorate your glasses night, glam them up with rhinestones, sequins and even feathers! Let’s see who could be the most creative! We love these heart shaped glasses and gorgeous diamante craft kit, perfect for a bling up party.

If you do have a bridal bling party tag us on Instagram so we can share your creations!

Places We Love in Marbella

From rooftop terraces to hidden garden patios, Marbella is an amazing town with many restaurants to try.

Next month, when it is cooler and the crowds have gone, we are heading into town to try the Jacare Brazilian restaurant.

A Brazilian grill located in the picturesque shady Parque de la Constitucion which is right opposite the Skol Hotel.

The Skol Hotel is a popular place to stay for many weddings, particularly Irish weddings as it has an Irish bar next door! It is also a perfect location on the Marbella promenade so guests do not have to hire cars, they can walk out the Skol straight onto the Marbella promenade with plenty of restaurants and bars.

The Jacare offers an all inclusive buffet of grilled meats and a good selection of cocktails. We will update when we have visited with our review!

Cocktail of the Month, The Cherry Negroni

Whilst cherries are in season at the moment in Marbella why not take the classic Negroni and give it a sweet twist with fresh cherries. The deep ruby colour makes it perfect for a summer wedding cocktail hour. Here’s the recipe

25ml gin

25ml Campari

25ml sweet vermouth

3–4 muddled fresh cherries

Ice and a cherry garnish

Muddle the cherries in a mixing glass, add the gin, Campari, vermouth and ice. Stir until well-chilled, strain into a rocks glass over ice and garnish with a cherry. For the well known Spanish measures do just double it!
