Marbella Feria week has officially begun and the town is alive with colour, music and celebrations. For Marbella locals it is one of the most looked forward to weeks of the year.

The Feria week commenced last night with a fantastic fireworks display in the town and crowds gathered to watch the impressive display lighting up the night sky.
Whether you are visiting during this week or looking to include some Spanish culture into your wedding, the Feria week is packed with plenty of inspiration.
What is Marbella Feria?
This June, from the 9th to the 15th, Marbella celebrates its patron saint, San Bernabe, with a week long festival of parades, fireworks, flamenco, the fairground rides at the feria, food and dancing. The festivities go on throughout the day and night in Marbella. Most of the daytime activities are in the town but at night time the feria ground comes alive. The fairground is now at the top of Marbella opposite the La Canada shopping centre.

Expect to see locals dressed in traditional Andalucian outfits as they celebrate and the beauty of the Marbella Feria isn't just in its fun, it is in the details. If you are planning a destination wedding to Marbella let's take a look at the elements you could consider for your wedding.
Flamenco, Florals & Bold Colours
Spain is filled with bright colours, from the flowers to the Spanish flamenco dresses, bold red has made a come back this year and let's not forget the vibrant pinks, purples and oranges that adorn every street and courtyard.
Spanish Inspirations from a lovely shoot by Mireia Cordomi with Caprichia
Fans are not just an accessory, but a must during the summer, we highly recommend these are offered at every wedding to help your guests stay cool. You can buy them in the local shops or order them online. Don't buy the bamboo cheapies, they fall apart quite quickly and are a waste of money. Look for sturdier, wooden and fabric fans, the more elaborate the better!
Statement earrings, flower crowns and ruffled dresses are synonymous with Spanish style, consider including some of these elements into your wedding style.
Other Feria elements to include in your wedding. A live Spanish guitarist, a flamenco show, plenty of Tinto de Verano's, Spain's answer to a refreshing light summer drink of red wine mixed with Casera (a fizzy lemonade).
Why not bring a Jamon cutter (cortador) to your cocktail and serve a classic Spanish skewer of olives, salty anchovies and a pickled pepper (Gilda). The name comes from the Rita Hayworth movie, Gilda, reflecting the characters spicy and bold nature! Let's not forget platters of Manchego cheese and you have Spanish fayre worthy of a Feria style wedding!

Marbella is busy, traffic will be heavier than usual and parking can be challenging. If you are arranging transport for your wedding guests do make sure there is plenty of time for the transport to arrive into town.
Parking will be an issue, warn your suppliers just in case some of them have forgotten, although most of them will probably be at the Feria!
It will be a one in a lifetime experience, so let your guests know what to expect, plenty of decorations, dancing and partying on the streets and of course some brilliant photo opportunities for you.
