Let’s spend some time taking in all the gorgeousness of this vibrant & colourful wedding at Casa De La Era, in Marbella. It was a very hot day at the end of July so it was decided to start the ceremony at 7pm which is not unusual here in Spain for a summer wedding.

Victoria & Karim live in New York, Spain was top of their destination wedding list with Victoria's Spanish/Argentinian heritage. They wanted a Spanish experience for their guests finally narrowing it down to Marbella. With plenty of flights to Spain via Madrid or Malaga, Marbella offered Victoria & Karim the perfect location to enjoy an amazing location with guaranteed sunshine, a beautiful town to explore and plenty of entertainment options. Without visiting beforehand they decided the Casa De La Era was their perfect wedding venue and booked their date.

Exactly one year before their wedding date with the main suppliers secured, they flew into Spain to visit the venue, enjoy a food tasting with Gusto Catering and have their gorgeous engagement photos taken by Victor Alaez. This also allowed them to check the weather, guest accommodation, welcome party venues and general vibes to expect when they returned a year later for their wedding.

With the main details booked by us Victoria found more of her suppliers on Instagram from the hair & makeup to the florist. The last details such as transport, cake, etc were organised by Lali at Ocean Weddings in Spain as she joined me to finalize the wedding.

The day started with a perfectly blue Mediterranean sky as Victoria and her bridal party checked into the villa at Casa de la Era to start getting ready. Karim and the rest of the wedding party were staying at the El Higueron hotel where Karim got ready and travelled to Casa de la Era slightly earlier to do some first look photos with Victoria.

The wedding team had been busy working on transforming Casa de la Era into a beautiful space filled with bright Spanish coloured florals, a memorial table to celebrate loved ones no longer with them, a sweetheart table with a chandelier background, fans to keep the guests cool and plenty of candles.

A Spanish Style Wedding Colour Palette

This truly gorgeous colour palette was chosen to reflect all the vibrant colours of the Mediterranean using pinks, oranges mixed with softer apricots and lilacs all beautifully put together by Lemonface Deco.

The ceremony arch was a ‘deconstructed arch’, two pieces of floral installations to create the effect of an arch and the aisle was lined with brightly coloured rose petals.

The bridal bouquet was a mix of pink peonies, huge magenta roses and a mix of smaller orange and softer pink roses and the bridal party wore their own choice of dresses embracing all the summer colours. We adore Victoria’s pale pink Prada shoes!

Olive oil favours were presented as the table seating plan with the guest names and table number hand written by Victoria’s mother on each label, the bottles were arranged in alphabetical order on the table seating plan stand provided by Lemonface Deco.

A truly beautiful ceremony was conducted by Sophie Li followed by a cocktail hour on the shaded terrace where guests were serenaded by Almoraima Fusion, a Spanish band lead by Jesus Gómez.

The Wedding Reception at Casa De La Era, Marbella

Guests were invited to a sit down wedding reception with superb catering provided by Gusto.

The BBQ style plated menu consisted of marinated chicken, Iberian secreto Ibérico with Chimichurri, entrecote steak with fried padrón peppers and marinated lamb cutlets. Pescatarians enjoyed a grilled sea bass with saffron sauce and vegetarians an individual spinach & ricotta crepe cannelloni.

The piece de resistance was the pistachio creme brûlée, a dessert Victoria said she had been waiting a year to eat again!

As the evening fell into darkness the entire venue sparkled with plenty of candles and fairy lights.

Speeches were made by family & friends followed by the cake cutting of a delicious flat table cake.

Wedding tip, before ordering a large table cake make sure the cake maker can get it into the venue!

Victoria & Karim chose a personalized cocktail for the evening called Penny’s Paloma named after their dog, a combination of tequila, grapefruit and soda water.

The party continued well into the night with music provided by DJ Marvin.

We wish Victoria & Karim a lifetime of happiness and thank you for choosing Marbella as your destination wedding location.
