Tucked away in the foothills just minutes from Marbella’s centre, Cascada Marbella is a wonderful new venue for weddings & events. Surrounded by lush greenery and the gentle sound of a cascading waterfall, Cascada offers something increasingly rare on the Costa del Sol, a tranquil oasis of calm, plenty of cool shade and some amazingly talented chefs, brothers Jacques & Mathieu Largarde.

We were invited this week for lunch and from the moment you arrive it becomes clear why this venue is beginning to turn heads among Marbella’s wedding & events scene.

Unlike many traditional Marbella venues, Cascada Marbella isn’t about sea views or beaches it is a beautiful nature led location at the bottom of the mountain yet just minutes from the hustle and bustle of Marbella, just past La Canada shopping center.

Set within tropical gardens framed by a flowing river and waterfall it is this setting that makes it particularly special for couples looking for something a little different and it is under new management with an incredible vision who are turning this venue into something unique.

What Does La Cascada Marbella Offer?

At its core, Cascada Marbella is known for its food. As we walked into the entrance it was lined with an amazing array of scented fresh herbs and plants immediately giving you that sense of farm to table. You could see a lot of care has gone into creating seasonal organic produce.

The menu follows this philosophy, combining seasonal, locally sourced ingredients with creative, modern culinary techniques.

During our visit, the experience felt considered and beautifully paced. I was delighted to see one of my old acquaintances working there, all the staff were very welcoming, extremely knowledgeable about each dish and took great care on how each dish was presented and served to us. We asked what training they had as it was a high standard and they explained to us it was the restaurant who took the time to train their staff.

I started with a G&T, I had spotted an unusual gin displayed inside as we were shown to our table and wasn’t disappointed. I tried the Mainake Lemon Grass & Basil Gin with Fever-Tree tonic, it was so delicious and refreshing. What I particularly loved is Mainake Gin is a local Marbella brand.

The chefs had organised a tasting menu for us based on some of their most popular dishes.

We started with the Pan Cristal with Truffle Butter & Mushroom Powder, then the most delicious Aubergine with Sugar Cane and Beetroot and Hazelnut Salad. Both dishes were beautifully presented.

Then we had the Aguja Ibérica, a savoury pork with a jamón jus sauce served with a caramelised onion dish and glazed parsnips, again a mastery of flavours and loved the way it was all put together.

We finished with an amazing creme brûlée infused with smoked hay.

A Marbella Wedding & Events Venue from a Planners Perspective

Planners love logistics and Cascada hosts private events, including weddings, with flexible spaces and tailored experiences.

They now have two full time maintenance staff purely working on the beautiful gardens and have new awnings to provide shade being installed in the next few weeks. The gardens and patio areas are beautifully lit at night creating a magical atmosphere so there is no need to create extra ambience. Mamma Mia vibes anyone?!

There are three main areas for weddings and functions.

The Terrace, can seat up to 110 guests for dinner or 200 for a standing cocktail. The Terrace also features a main bar.

The Patio, filled with the scent of orange blossoms, just opened this weekend is accessible only via a grand terrace style stairway. It can seat 80 guests or 150 standing and also has a main bar.

The Restaurant, a gorgeous interior space which is perfect for the late night party with a bar and plenty of restrooms. We loved the interiors, an open kitchen, a huge central wood fireplace, wine displays, a curious array of pickles and even a cured meats display. It can accommodate 70 seated and 120 standing.

You can download the details from their website here.

There is plenty of parking and the venue is easily accessible for both guests and suppliers.

The venue lends itself beautifully to a rustic style decor and offers boutique drinks stations which you could have a lot of fun with focusing on the details and using the overall atmosphere as the style for your event or wedding.

What makes it particularly appealing for weddings in Marbella is there isn’t a venue hire fee, they are working on a minimum spend and offer a whole range of menus to suit each occasion from welcome drinks to weddings.

You can see the menus here, the a la carte and also the functions menus although they will create a tailored experience to your preferences.

There’s something about Cascada Marbella that feels very aligned with the new wave of Marbella weddings, during our lunch, we noted is wasn’t dissimilar to the gardens at the Marbella Club, a quiet discerning atmosphere.

Couples today are increasingly looking beyond the obvious, seeking venues that feel personal, atmospheric, and a little unexpected, Cascada delivers just this and is a beautiful option to consider.
